Treesap and heat brittled paint after ONE DAY!

OK, I dunno if there's a thread posted prior to this one warning all of you of devastating effects of treesap and heat , but frankly I don't care.... I just need to fume a bit and warn you at the same time.

I have a 07 3 series coupe with black sapphire paint finish. Not so long ago, I moved in to a new neighborhood in LA and on my street there are many trees overshadowing the road. Right across from my building there is a tree that has seasoned and produced some kind of a bean shape fruit. I had not noticed that until the incident. Normally, I park my car in the garage, but that day I parked my car under the tree because it was too hot and I was in a rush, and didn't move the car until the next day afternoon. Once I got to my car I found there were brownish / purplish spots all over the hood, on the roof, doors, and trunk of my car. It looked like the because of the heat the tree's fruit had fallen down onto the car and splashed everywhere. Now, when I found the car in that state the residue felt very tough and hard like an old dried heated treesap. Anyways, to make a long story short, the treesap or the liquid from the beans along with the heat that had made the black paint too hot has totally destroyed the paint job. I have at least in 15 places brittled paint finish. i found the brittled paint under the sap when i tried to remove the residue in places that i could remove a bit of it and see the paint underneath it (damn thing doesnt come off and feels rough to the touch). And in some other sections, I have an imprint of the impact in the clear coat. It's amazing how in one day the entire paint job is destroyed. went to BMW parts and purchased their tree-sap remover.. nothing. other products...nothing.. claybar...nothing... professional body shop... tells me most likely car needs to be repainted. car is a lease, dunno if i cough up the money and paint the car, the dealer will take the car back or not! i am so confused and pissed.

Just dont park under any tree and if u get any shXt wash if off IMMEDIATELY!

take care..

fu@k that blows, this is the only time where i feel good about my purchase of the paint, interior and sound protection. it cost me about 8oo bucks and i regret it almost every day, but if something like this were to happen to me...my warranty would cover the damage because of the paint protection shiat that they put on it thats supposed to stop that kinda damage from happening.

I feel for you bro, truly i do... its bullshiat man, even with the shiat i have on the car, i still get etching and some spots that dont seem to wanna move.

That is not fun. For that reason I make a conscious effort to not park under whenever I can avoid. But obviously, sometimes it cannot be avoided and you just got unlucky =(

Sorry to hear about what happened. Ouch, that sucks. I just helped a friend remove some tree sap yesterday. Goo Gone to soak, then clay bar removed it completely without residue. It sounds like you tried all of this already, but your paint was messed up instead.
