Head on over to Fourtillfour on the first Saturday of the month and the PCA guys will make sure you trade in the M for a Porsche. Lots of good folks there to pass along some advice to make sure you pick the right car.

I mean….a C43 isn't even remotely a real AMG, what exactly is he cocky about? When I think of a C43, I think of the C Class 94-2000 sedan.

You realize the CLS63 is like $35k nowadays, right?
Not exactly comparing a 2022 $100k car….

Yeah but the average noob sees the "AMG" badge and hears the exhaust and think it's the real thing. It's relatively fast too, I think a low 4-second car. At least a second quicker than me.

I came from a 2009 GTI to my 2011 328i. The GTI's boost kicking in was absolutely addicting, and I loved the quick steering and flickable gearbox. I owned both concurrently for about 5 months. All of the subjective things in the GTI were awesome, but I did come to prefer the steering feel in my 328. However I do miss the quicker turn in that the GTI had. Also definitely prefer RWD to FWD, and while I do miss the boost, I have come to grow to enjoy having to rev the crap out of the N52. Shifters are a mixed bag, the 328 feels noticeably more substantial, but its action is much notchier and the throws are a lot longer than in the GTI. The BMW definitely wins in terms of comfort, as it is much quieter on the interstate and nicer in general.
My dad has a 2013 Audi Allroad and it is probably a better interstate car than my BMW. Engine basically idles along at 90 mph which makes for a slightly quieter ride, and is about equal with my car in terms of seat comfort, audio quality, etc. However, the rest of the subjectives are noticeably worse than my car, with the steering feel being the most notable (it's very bad). It's tolerable on the interstate but frustrating in the city. My mom has a 2015 Volvo V60, and I prefer the steering feel in it to my dad's car but have a harder time seeing out of it. Everything else is kinda a wash.
