In my personal experience, the shxtshow usually happens occasionally at the weeknight and most often weekend night events, so if you are somewhat of a mature person and don't want to deal with idiots, i'd say take a day off work to go. It will be far less frustrating on your end.

I always had friends/family join so I could take them for a session on track. Brakes, fuel, entry fees, food/water (so you aren't eating a greasy hamburger before going back on the track).....even in 2013 I figured it was about an $800-1000 weekend..........which didn't include the cost of building the car. |

The ONLY car I'd ever consider for track work or "track days" is a Miata. Low weight and low power means you're not spending a fortune on expendables and you're still having a blast. You're chances of a epic crash are also somewhat reduced as the Miata can't gather nutty speed like many of today's high powered, high limit performance/sports cars/coupes.

But my first on track experience (where I was driving) was my '04 R6. There was about a 45 mph difference going into Turn 1 between the R6 and the Miata. |

Having owned 2 Miatas (NB with a FM turbo, and a NC) over about 8 years and many many lapping days with them, you are the few and far between that would let the Miata by and I salute you sir.
I find it’s just easier to bully the fancy ego driven cars off the track.

I just drive a 1M every day.
Family of 3. 6 year old has grown up in it since birth. No issues. Skip on the SUVs. Life is too short to follow such predictable templates advertising made for peeps to follow and adhere to…

To be fair, I wouldn't be getting rid of a 1M if I owned it either. Well played.

Tbh My desire for a sports car died off from years of commuting in heavy traffic. Wfh most of my driving is highly discretionary. Im much more interested now that my day to day isn't a soul crushing slog |
