Transmission Tuning
I drive a 2010 BMW 335i E93 with an N54 motor, the transmission currently goes into limp mode after a good beating on the car for a bit. Codes say I need to replace 2 of the Mechatronic Solenoids in the transmission, but I normally just clear the codes and the car does fine for daily commute. I saw on YouTube someone that had the same issue tune his transmission without addressing the solenoid issue. Not sure if it solved his problem or made it worse, which leads me to ask you all if this would be a good idea? This YouTuber tuned it using a base map from an app but I would be tuning it through an individual that's well known in the N54 community. I'm hoping by tuning my trans it will help the car drive better and get rid of my limp mode issue.

I can`t see how tuning any failing part on a car, to operate beyond it`s designed specs/to it`s limit, will help it work better.
Happy for you to prove my wrong ofc Also if this tuner is worth their salt as you say, then they should be the one you ask. |
