E85 bottles UK

Guys can someone let me know if this is suitable for use in a N54?

https://www.ekofuel.org/bioethanol-f...ireplaces.html

"EkoFuel is 97% bioethanol with 2% other alcohols and only 1% denaturants. Our bioethanol fuel is produced from the by-products of growing sugar beet. The natural sugars are fermented and then distilled to produce pure ethanol."

I know it says Bioethenol for Fireplaces lol.

Way too much hassle to order/buy barrels full of it in UK, I'm not looking for big power just to see of it clears up timing corrections. At the moment fuel prices going through the roof in the UK, Tesco momentum 99ron is giving me more corrections than V Power at the same octane level.

The alternative is to use octane boosters which I'm trying to avoid using.

I used some bioethanol E96 for fireplace to pass an emission test, since it's intended to burn indoor with almost no CO emission. It worked.

I bought it at the DIY store and I mixed it with 91 OCT to get around E30, so 4 remaining % (denaturants) are cut in third (more or less), and it's just only ~1.3% after mixing, so I would say it's ok.

These are logs running 93OCT V10 when I was using the mixture :
https://datazap.me/u/studio54/v10-93...7-8-9-10-11-22
https://datazap.me/u/studio54/v10-93...7-8-9-10-11-22

Still some minor timing corrections, but I am pretty sure that with V7, it would have been free of correction, V10 is exigent.

Otherwise, no problem here (on a short duration). It just smelled a bit funny/fruity

That said, I feel it's more convenient to just poor a 300ml can of a good octane booster (mecatech TC2), than 10 liters or more of E96.

Thanks mate,

I was thinking of using Octane booster on a regular basis, I'm getting tired of these timing corrections. It varies wildly from station to station and even on the best fuel we have Shell V power 93oct still have some corrections. I change plugs pretty much every year, approximately 7k miles, so don't really care if plugs go orange so long as it lasts a year at least.

Not planning on running any E maps, if I was to use say 1 litre per tank, would that make any significant difference in reducing timing corrections?

Have an example log of the corrections in mention?

As I'm absolutely sure you know, 1 or 2 minor corrections are perfectly fine and I wouldn't really think much of it. I can find even on the same tank of gas, out of 5 logs 2 or 3 may have no corrections and the other 2 or 3 may have minor corrections.

This is on Tesco momentum 99ron/93oct

On Shell V power get slightly less corrections but I've never managed to eliminate them. Only when I used Royal Purple octane booster. 1 or 2 corrections don't concern me, its when you get multiple corrections across cylinders that annoy me, because of trash fuel at pumps

Oh yeah, I would not be happy with those corrections either.

That is one healthy ass HPFP though! lol

lol, I think the crazy high HPFP psi is tune related, OTS maps managed to drop to 1800psi.

Wish we had E85 at pumps like you guys do

Hehe yeah I used octane boosters for extended periods (and still do sometimes), no correction on V7, but remember to had some on V9, and I am sure I would get some on V10 aswell, but felt a great difference in the butt dyno with a double effect, higher octane + running better map (91 to 93 map), also felt it spools quicker/better response.

That said, I am getting corrections too with the regular 91 oct and the 91 map, any gas station has probably has to have the "best perfect" 91/93 fuel to run without corrections on according map.

Cause sometimes when I use an octane booster, I like to raise my octane to 94/95oct.
I poor the can in my empty tank, and I had 25-30 liter of 91 instead of 40-45 liters, and even with that I can get some minor corrections.

I didn't plan to use E maps too, I only used ethanol to reduce emissions, and I decided to log it on the 93 map and it does work good as a clean octane booster for sure, but preparing the mixture is a bit tiresome.

One liter of E100 (let's say) in a tank will be too low to reduce timing corrections I think
On previous logs I posted , I can't remember exactly, but it was like I used around 6 liters of E96 + 14 liters of 91, to make a half tank of ~E30. (Also felt a bit weird to poor "Bioethanol for fireplaces" in my car )

lol, ok Octane booster it is. 6 litres is ridiculous prices here, about 2/3 full tank of 93oct fuel price. Won't bother with Ethanol then. Thanks mate.
