e90 335ix VRSF downpipe fitment?

Hey all,
I want to replace the downpipes on my e90 with the VRSF ones. Anyone install them on their own? I have heard that they are a huge PITA because you essentially need to drop out the subframe and disconnect the front axles before you can really access them. I know that you can make life easier and chop the stock ones off and yank them out, but I would like to scrap them. Also, does the 3 inch downpipe fit with the stock exhaust?

I don't know how long you have owned your 335xi but like most projects I'd aim to knock out a few maintenance and upgrades at the SAME TIME. Installing down pipes on my car was a PITA and I didn't have to drop the subframe (DP to midpipe connection was rusted like a b**ch). Knowing what I know now I should have replaced the RMS and inspected my clutch. In your case maybe replace the engine mounts and replace the oil pan gasket (both cheap parts). You could do all three (downpipes, gasket, motor mounts) and save a ton of time.

THat's just my opinion and I've basically DIY'd everything on my car because it's the only way to afford this shit.
Don't cut down pipes off your car! You can sell them to metal scrappers for $200 easy. Probably more in the forums. I sold my secondary cats for $175 but held onto the dp's incase I need them.

Yeah, I had planned on replacing the OPG, servicing my diff, replacing the motor mounts, and replacing some bushings. Sounds like a bitch but might as well do somethings while im in there I guess.

I bought my VRSF Xi Dp's around 2 and a half a years ago and they fit fine. I'm not sure how their fitment or quality is these days. Definitely be sure to do motor mounts and oil pan gasket if that is leaking.

Also be sure your steering rack bolts are tightened up after. Shops always forget to tighten properly..
