Newest Detailing Related Acquisitions

Finally got all my new stuff. Got the steamer about a month ago. And after my Hitachi Rotary was giving me problems again I decided to get a Makita this time and keep it as a spare. The Makita seems louder, but much higher quality. Plus it came with a sweet tool bag and a couple pads. Also picked up a barely used Durrmaid from a member on autopia. With the new tools I'll be looking to take my detailing biz to an even higher level.

The Hitachi wouldn't turn off, when you release the trigger it keeps spinning at the slowest RPM's. This has happened to me before, I got it fixed and it happened again after using it on 3 cars. It also tends to get very hot when using it, almost to the point where it will burn you when you hold it by the top metal portion. And also, when it heats up a bit it, the rpms will spike up to about 3000 until you release the trigger, this has happened many times, and I have read about members on autopia experiencing the same issue. I borrowed a buddies Hitachi to do a car since mine was broken, and it did the same thing once it was running a little hot.

They do come with a 5 year warranty so just keep all your receipts. I do think the Hitachi is quieter though which is nice, but I'll just get some earplugs lol.
