Bmw E93 gas cap door actuator makes funny noise

As of today my bimber has started making a funny noise when unlocking and locking the car coming from the gas cap door actuator (the little thing that shoots out to lock the door). Sometimes I can also not unlock the car or lock. I have tried to change my keyfob, spray silicone and unlock/lock the car a few thousand times. I also have an aftermarket immobiliser, but I believe that won’t make a difference. Battery is also good. Could this have happened due to washing the car with an open gas door and what would be the fix? I couldn’t find any info on the interwebs only the door actuator problem threads, but that’s not the issue here.

I guess the actuator has to be replaced, but why do my doors sometimes not lock/unlock since the actuator has been making the noise? Is the fuel cap actuator causing this?

Garage List
Maybe it's not aligned properly and hanging up somehow?

Seems aligned right. Nothing missing. Silicone spray fixed it for now. If anyone has this problem make sure that the little rubber part around the the little rod that shoots out is intact. I read that it sometimes falls off. I am still not sure what caused my actual door locks to act up.
