Your post makes it seem as if there is one factory in China that makes DCI and they are just sold by different brands with different logos.

In reality, there are lots of factories that make different DCI, with different quality, fitment, pros, and cons.

I would not recommend getting whatever is in stock, I would get any proven brand that is in stock.

Not at all what I stated or inferred. There are lots of factories in china. All producing basically the same filters for this application. We know this because they are all basically in the same price point. Just like metal charge pipes. Its not like we are able to buy KN air filters. To state that BMS, VRSF or any of the other $99 DCI kits are drastically different is not accurate.

VRSF, BMS or any proven brand are not drastically different, and i never said they are. That's why i said to get any established brand that's in stock; they are similar.

Your first post said "DCI filters are basically the same. ALL made in CHINA."
That would be any DCI, any brand, even no brand are all the same because they are made in the same country.

thats not true and thats not the same as your second post.

I completely agree with your second post.

Hiya sorry it took so long.

I finally got the chance to fit the Masata DCI on earlier this month! Just thought I'd share some thoughts.

Fitting was pretty quick, took less than an hour no issues at all. As expected there isn't much of a difference in power, but it sounds amazing! Seriously guys if you wanna just get a little extra sound but don't wanna go crazy with the budget, DCI is the way to go. Really digging the black sleek look too

Sure if your got a non turbo then yes they are hot air intakes.

I would keep stock airbox too while running stock intercooler as it's not very efficient at cooling IAT's. IAT's reflect the efficiency of the intercooler.

Here we go again

It's a N54 it doesn't matter, it's negligible. I rather lose 0.5hp and gain wooshy engine noises.

It's not the extra hot air or debris that they suck in that bothers me the most about them. It's the fact the stock snorkel is just hanging there.

I added air scoops for like 20 bucks and ziptied the snorkle (theres a hole on the right side of it) to face closer to the DCI if that even matters.

Prolly doesn't do much but judging from where the air comes in from the grill, it directs the cold air better via the scoop to the intakes.

At the minimum it doesn't hurt i think.

Example pic below to illustrate the air scoop flow. Ignore the intake shield lool
