Intake manifold swap question

Check engine light is on and mixture control 1 and 2 fault codes come up (29E0, 29E1) I did some snooping around and noticed the PCV blowby heater elbow melted as the recall mentioned might happen. It unfortunately looks like it maybe melted a hole in the breather hose and also possibly ruined one of the screw holes for its mounting.

I am going to replace the hose and have to repair the electrical connector as well. https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...-12527507529kt

My question is do you think the intake manifoldis still usable? If the hole is too loose / threads melted how would I go about fixing that? Epoxy?

I mean I'm sure it will still work.as the screw threads will either re-tap themselves(if melted) or I believe its brass so they should still be fine

That being said it is an excellent time for a 3 stage manifold upgrade

What kind of improvements can I expect if I change it to the 3 stage? Will fuel economy improve? That is the one with the large DISA valves right? I have read horror stories of the pins getting sucked in to the engine through the intake manifold. I guess rare catastrophes are bound to happen

fuel economy will stay the same if you drive the same but an extra 25hp. Ya the earlier disa valves fell apart but just get the later revision

Those $700 DISA valves are why my 3 stage intake manifold is still sitting on my bench.
