The other day I noticed a bit of water on the passenger rubber mat, didn't find any leaks coming from around the door and glovebox. It kept happening so I asked a friend to accompany me while I drive around to see if he can spot any leaks. Found a place with massive puddles and drove through them a couple times without my friend spotting a single leak, however the floor lining/carpet was starting to become properly soaked. What was happening is that the carpet was soaking up enough water to start "climbing" up to the side and spilling on the rubber mat.

I've checked the draining ports under the hood near the windshield and they weren't clogged, I don't have a sunroof on this car.
Is there anything else that could be causing a leak? I was planning on removing the carpet soon to have a look, but would like to know if there's something else to check.

Car is e90 2009 lci

Is it only wet after it’s raining outside? Could be the vapor barrier on the doors.

It seemed to happen only when it was wet outside yeah
Like I said, we drove purposefully through a couple of big puddles and all of a sudden the floor carpet was drenched, after a while it seems to "drain" a bit, but it would stay slightly wet obviously

What I did was setup my iphone to record on the inside. I aimed it towards the door and lined the area where the door meets the body with paper towel. I sprayed water against the window to see if that's where the water is leaking through. In my case it was the vapor barrier.

I am having similar issues with 2011 335i coupe on the passenger side. It seems to happen when it rains. The carpeting gets wet - underneath the passenger seat but the rear passenger side as well but also the front passenger side. On the front passenger side, the wetness was not as bad as the rear. I noticed the interior of the windshield would have condensation on cool nights.

I removed the floor mats & used a wet dry vac w/ wet nozzle to vacuum out the water over the course of a week -- It was annoying when I drove uphill, more water would appear (the areas where I couldn't get the nozzle to reach).

I placed microfiber towels underneath the seat and areas towards the rear to soak up the water. And also used a sponge to pick up up the remaining water.

Carpeting has finally dried out - though it was really wet underneath the seat and the area where there's a duct.

I haven't determined if water is coming from the duct.

+1, this can easily be a windshield seal issue.
Had the same problem on my old RAV4. It was leaking like crazy on the driver side for a few months. I had to dig out the old rubber seals and silicone around the edge using blue painters tape. Worked like a charm but I wouldn't go that route on a nice car. I'd probably get a new windshield installed.

Unfortunately pretty common on these cars, nobody replaces them correctly and they leave the strip off the bottom which holds the cowl to the windshield causing the seal. They then leak water into the blower motor area and all around the firewall inside. Big mess!
