purging old gas?

hey, long time former 07 335 owner who re-acquired the very same 335 I sold almost 8 years ago.

Long story short, the guy I sold the car to parked it since 2017. He emailed me and asked if I wanted the car for cheap as he needed his parking spot. Zero prep was done prior to the car being parked. I've towed the car to my place and have addressed various things that I suspect why he parked it... oil housing/valve cover/cam seal leaks, bad vanos, cracked coolant flange/lines.

I popped off the back seat and siphoned all the gas in the tank out (both sides. The gas definitely went bad. I want to purge whatever is in the fuel lines and already have the fuel rail off to do all the gaskets. I got a working battery, hooked up a rubber hose where the fuel rail meets the hardline to the hpfp, I hear the car hum when I give it power but nothing comes out. I hit start (without starting) and same, nothing comes out.

I searched for a bit and couldn't find a definitive way to get the gas out of the lines. Can I get some help on how to do this?

Thanks!

To close the loop, without shorting relays or jumping the pump connector, I used INPA to trigger the fuel pump.

Emptied around 4L of stinky gas, then flushed some fresh gas through.

Hope this helps a future google search.

That's exciting dude, I bought back my old 335i after a few years, years back and I have such fond memories of getting her back up to snuff. I sold it again after 2 more years and still miss that car lol

That's easier than what I would've done. I'd also check the injectors to make sure they're not sticking due to bad fuel being in them so long.
