car cover with PPF?
Hey all....I have to park outside in an uncovered spot in S Florida. That means sun, bird poop, lizard poop (they climb the palm trees), and all kinds of random water spots (rain or sprinklers), not to mention the usual pollen and other crap.
It rained yesterday, I washed it today, and i already had bad water spots on my windows and some areas of the PPF that needed attention. Is there any reason not to use a car cover over a fully PPF'd car? (I have never used one because of the rubbing and potential damage to the paint.)

If fully PPF'd I would think you'd be ok.

Part of the problem is i got spoiled by a white car that hid all this much better. The worst part of that car was that I had to use the windshield wipers to clean the windshield before leaving for work every day (not to mention the horrible water spots all over my windows that never went away).
I think having a garage is the single biggest thing I miss about having a house/townhouse over a condo. And our building only has 7 covered spots. No one will sell theirs in a swap, i asked.

My car has full PPF. I would think a cover in your situation is a great idea. The only reservation I would have would depend on the quality of the installation. I would think in certain areas that covering and un-covering the car could grab an edge of the PPF here and there (again depending on the installation). Seems to me in a few areas that may be susceptible to having the PPF lift from the use of a cover you could have them reinstall that area of PPF to avoid that problem.
I would use the cover, PPF doesn't keep bird shit, lizard shit, and water spots off the car, it keeps it off the paint. |

I wouldn't think you'd have too much to worry about if the car is full PPF, unless you have spots where the PPF isn't tucked. The most rubbing you're going to get, is just to the PPF, unless you want to take a look at one of these. But they start about $2,000. Depends on what it's worth to you.

Car Cover with PPF
I have a partial PPF, but although I store my M4 in garage, I cover it with a soft cloth cover which in spring keeps yellow oak tree dust from getting on car.
