Having the clutch and engine mounts replaced. Anything else I should have done while

As the title says. It's a high mile car, and a lot of labor to tear down that far. I'm wondering what else to do while I have the chance? Atm I'm planning on the clutch/flywheel, rear main seal, engine & trans mounts, new front flex disc, and oil changes for the engine and transmission. Oil pan gasket has 70k mi; still looks good.

Freshen up the transmission: https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...it-e9xshiftkit

Guibo and support bearing.

X2 on shift linkage. Cheap, and saves you from dropping the exhaust and driveshaft in the future. Gear select shaft seals are wear items on BMWs.

Otherwise, you're pretty much covered.

Could do input and output shaft seals on the gearbox, but on these things... if they aren't leaking I don't touch them. Honestly same deal with the rear main. Shaft seals are other-world-ly robust on n52.

T/O bearing guide tube??? I've never seen one that needed replaced on n52 cars....

I've been looking for these "gear select shaft seals" all morning. Do you know the part # or maybe there's another term for them?

Thanks for the heads up on the trans input/output seals. I will have my guy check and advise. And I will likely do the same with the rear main. If it's not leaking I will leave it alone. And I have a new UUC lever and DSSR ready to go in also. I think I'll have the entire shifting mechanism redone. It's not much compared to the rest of the job.

The transmission shaft seals are really easy to change. Pretty much exactly the same as every other car that's ever been made.

The rear main is quite difficult to do correctly. Plenty of write-ups on the forum. General consensus is that a new one is more likely to leak due to faulty installation than an old one that just stays put.

Select rod shaft seal is part #9 in this diagram for my car. Check realOEM with your vin to make sure you get the right one. Don't know if they are all the same. They are a pain in the butt to remove. Lots of patience with dental picks.

Thanks! Yes it's a different part for my trans; I have a RWD 28i. But I found it once you pointed it out.
