Jet Seal 109 Review by the common detailing man
I finally took the plunge to try Jet Seal. I wasn't sure I would be able to let the car sit, but I took off today so I could.
I used the Mother's clay bar kit to prep the car. Other than the flat top panels, the car wasn't in too bad of shape. It took me about an hour, and the car was smooth. After this I applied Jetseal by hand. The product went on smooth, and evenly using one of DetailedImages applicators. After that I let the car sit overnight for 12 hours. I woke up today at about 7, and went to wipe the product off. It came off nice, and easy. I followed it up with a second coat. I did my daily exercise routine, and cleaned the inside of the car which took about 3 hours combined. Afterwards I wiped off the rest of the product which came off even easier. I got the car out in the sun, and it looks very smooth. I can't tell too much of a difference than the Zymol products I used before though. However, it goes on much easier, and comes off a whole lot easier. The durability will be much better obviously due to Zymol being a wax. The shine isn't anything spectacular, but my car is Sparkling Graphite. The color just doesn't seem to stick out like some colors. I am putting on some M3 reps later today, and will try to get some good pictures. However, I do recommend this product for the common detailer. |

sealant doesn't sparkle like wax does but jetseal is as close to it as you can get.
just keep watching at how water (okay this is obsolete since it's summer) beads off as if you put rain-x all over it! |

I agree. JetSeal by itself doesn't result in crazy beading. But if you applied 50/50 on top of JetSeal as a LSP, wow, super nice. First time I did it, I wanted to take out my camera and take a video

I'll probably give the car a wash, and throw some wax on top the Jetseal tomorrow. It rained today as I was on my way back from putting my new wheels on.

usually i use JetSeal after doing a full polish of the car followed by an IPA (1:1 Isopropyl Alcohol (IAP) / distilled water mix) wipe down.
if i'm applying it as a maintenance i'll wash the car w/ a heavy concentration of car wash (CG citrus wash is best) and then do an IPA wipe down - that should strip any protection already on the finish to allow JetSeal to bond to the paint. you should try matching your QD w/ you LSP layer. if your LSP is a sealant then i'd recommend FK425 or zaino z6, if your LSP is a carnuba wax i'd go w/ CG speed wipe and gloss. i hate to open a can of worms on you but since i brought up zaino, they have a very good line of sealants that are competitive to JetSeal. From what i've read on forums zaino gives the same look as JetSeal and the same ease of use, but will last longer. if you go w/ zaino you'll know the zaino z6 QD will match the zaino z2 or z5 sealant. here's some quick notes i put together for their line (btw: i tried zaino only once or twice about 5 years ago): From zaino site on what to buy to get started: So for the ultimate, your shopping list includes ZFX, Z-2, Z-6, Z-7, Z-18 and a couple of #314's applicator pads. For minor imperfections, pick up some Z-5.ZFX is the quick dry / cure agent to use w/ Z-2 Z-2 Pro is the sealant for all newer cars Z-5 is basically Z-2 w/ some swirl filling additives Z-6 is a QD Z-7 is their car shampoo Z-18 is their clay Z-8 is a ‘grand finale’, sounds like a heavy gloss that also offers protection that doesn’t last very long. to be used after washes for that quick shine-up Z-CS is a clear seal that wipes on and dries w/o the need to remove it. should be the LSP. its not meant to replace Z-2 Pro, but instead you layer them, Z-2, Z-CS, Z-2, Z-CS or Z-2, Z-2, Z-CS. process: use ZFX with Z-2 for sealant, then Z-6 to clean surface b4 re-apply another layer of Z-6. repeat this process to apply at least 2 - 3 layers. use Z-6 and / or Z-8 as maintenance after a wash. |

Carbon, nothing to high end. I don't like it very much. I had Roug wax on my old GTO, and that seemed to be really good for some of their lower end stuff.

Sadly, you've used three that have average durability at best (imo). Honestly, if you want easy durability Z2pro with ZFX will do it. Werkstatt is good too, but Zaino is still easier to use.

I currently use Z2pro and find it great but was thinking about trying Jeffs Werkstatt Acryllic Jett Trigger. I would think it is easier to apply. What would your thoughts be on that product versus Z2pro?

Trigger is easier to use as a result of being a spray; it lasts comparably long to Z2pro (in my experience) and looks similar, so it's a good alternative. It still doesn't last quite as long as the traditional version of Acrylic Jett or Z2pro though (although most of us dont wait long enough for sealants to disappear). The regular Acrylic Jett is pretty terrible to use though, just fyi.
