Anyone Hooked Up A Rear View Camera to their I-Drive?

I wish I ordered the PDC on my car when I had the chance, but can't dwell too long over spilt milk. My 330i is going to be equipped with the Idrive navigation...

So my question is, has anyone hooked up a rear-view camera to their Idrive?
What do you need to make it work?
A camera and an aux input?
If you did it yourself how hard was it? 1-10...?
If you paid a shop to do it, how much did they charge?

Thanks a lot for any light you guys could shed on this matter.

This is a factory option in Europe. It is even in the accessory catalogue that I got from the dealer.

There is also a front camera.

The PDC can be added aftermarket on the rear. According to the Official BMW Accessories catalog (USA) for the 3 Series (pg 32-33) the least expensive version is with the licens plate mount at $299 (part number 66210395009). Installation is an added expense.

The other option costs $429 plus installation.

The rear camera is available in Europe but doesn't (apparently) interface with the iDrive screen. It has its own screen mounted in a vent somewhere. There are two versions: the front camera shows in a split screen with views to both directions (left/right). The rear camera only shows straight back. I don't recall if they use the same monitor.

The catalogue states that if the central unit is not present, there is a monitor that takes the place of the vent.

The vent monitor is shown with the front camera and the I-Drive monitor is shown with the rear camera.

Maybe the Canadian catalogue is different, but it uses nothing but German cars in it.
