Fuel It PI kit issue

Fuel line from plate down to metal line is to short and not flexible enough to clear the starter. Because of it it failed. Anyone having this issue? Fuel It claims they sold ton of these lines with out issue. However that doesn’t automatically mean design is flawless. Take a look:

the tear on the jacket looks like its caused by internal swelling or jacket material drying out and shrinking to the point of tearing. looks more like defective material wear than wear from rubbing or being too tight against the starter.

regards to size: this is not a mass produced item to be cut to size at a factory, they get a 500-1000' spool of fuel line and have someone there cutting them in smaller batches or per order, so there is plenty of room for error.

you can get a quality fuel hose cut to size locally, i find shops that sell/service industrial hydraulic equipment to have best selection of quality branded hose products, alot of automotive places just sell basic/cheap stuff.

nzero the hose split because it was to tight and with out any give going around the starter. So the T firing poke through it because the tip of it ends exactly where the hose needs to bend to clear the starter. Fuel It isn’t acknowledging the issue. They made me purchase another hose for $115 that has exactly the same issue. I ended up using hose from Performance Raceworks which I had originally bought to install e85 sensor. I really dislike when reputable companies deny responsibility assuming customer is totally clueless. I have worked on as many N54/55 as they have sold this kits probably.

This is actually very common with the fuel it kits their to greedy to admit it. Watch swap depot YouTube video for their port install came out about a month ago exact same issue and they've had it happen multiple times on fuel it port kits

What a let down. I would have thought they would have been better then that.

Never had any issues with PR stuff.

Yes! Truly is! Definitely not a good way to go about dealing with customers. I gave them my input, hey fuel line too short and not flexible, they sell me again fuel line with exactly the same issues and indirectly blame on me that you I’m not installing it correctly. I hope this tread will make a difference.

OMG!! $115 for a hose that's less than 3ft??? if it happens again consider finding a local place that supplies high quality hoses, just get it cut oversized and trim to perfect fit when installing. shouldn't cost more than $20-30 for that piece.

I know! I have Performance Raceworks PI on my STn54 and their line is $50 and it works. I have their lines for e85 sensor instal and tank fuel line upgrade that I used fittings from to make an extension and get the TTn54 going as I need it out of the garage. I’m little bias towards JB4 and bough the kit from Fuel It due to the relationship they have. Huge buyers remorse now. They lost me a customer and I’m certain they will keep loosing more by people reading and watching YouTube about the issue.

Had the same thing happen to me. If you not timid to do your own hoses I'd recommend making a custom kit yourself using ptfe hose. Harbor freight has a cable cutter that will cut the hose like butter. Summit was my source for the fittings etc.
