Hey all,

Looking to do a secondary cat delete and replace them with the vibrant resonators. However, will that cause me to fail smog? I’m in California by the way.

You will fail the visual portion of the smog check IF the tech is following the book and looking for the secondary cats. In my experience smogging these cars, they did not inspect for the secondary cats but there is a chance they will.

The secondary cats have no impact on the OBD or plug in portion of the smog check, so you will be OK there.

So sorry for the late reply. But, do you think they’ll even notice if the secondaries were replaced with the resonators? I mean only IF they do check it.
