E line cut me open last night
Coming to Boston from a nice little g2g and I'm coming down Huntington Ave
and run across the tracks as usual, when I hear a TING! Pull over on the side, and there's a gouge in the rim, and a slice in the sidewall. So much for having minty 197's. I'm looking at just getting new wheels all together. The Breyton Race GTS has an 18" but not staggered. They are 18"x8.5" fitted with 225x40. 19's come staggered at 8.5 front and 9.5 rear. 235/35 front and 265/30 rear for rubber. Questions: -are the 19s going to be too big for city driving comfortably? -should my emphasis be on keeping staggered sizes, or would running 18x8.5 on all corners be just fine, with no loss in handling? -how durable are these Breytons? prices seem almost too good...yet I see them mounted on some race vehicles... appreciate it |

That's too bad, we had a nice smooth drive down Route 9 before that
I had a similar experience with my previous 19" replica wheels, so I'm surprised it happened to your OEM wheels. Except my wheels completely bent on one side. Maybe your tires were under inflated?
