Prep is EVERYTHING!
So as Ninja said above you should polish the car first. 90-95% of what the paint looks is due to polishing. Once the paint it great shape, most lsp will do it. Do you want shine, depth, or both? What color car? |

omg. i agree SO MUCH because i spent so much time using paste waxes and cleaning in between the gooves of the car to clean out the excess wax...that is a BITCH! but i dont have to worry about that with the NXT wax
other than that i mean... ive read good things about zaino and klasse and i really want to order a set this week, never tried it yet though would i be able to do klasse AIO/SG and THEN top with liquid NXT or am i just really stupid? Last edited by Watah; 03-11-2007 at 03:40 PM.. |

Have you heard about the new Polycharger wax booster? You can apply it to the AIO and or SG. |

I love P21S. Very high grade carnauba wax. Easy to apply, doesn't stain your trim. I usually put a coat on after every wash.

Which Zaino would be best for a BSM car? Z-2, Z-3, Z-5, or another? Also, does anyone use the Z-7 Show Car Wash, Z-9 Leather Cleaner, and Z-10 Leather in a Bottle? Never used Zaino products before, but read on here that they're the best.

I honestly did not know they existed before (thanks Google) but it turns out that they make the Four Star Line here in Bradenton! So I showed up for a free detailing class at Detail City in Bradenton this Saturday and learned a lot more than I thought I knew about detailing my cars. Awesome people too! They even demonstrated some products on my baby (my 330i) I did not know that she could shine that deep! Of course I had to do the rest of my car myself but it was well worth it and I planned on doing it anyway. Well as far as the sealant I went with the Ultima Paint Guard Plus (same company Four Star) but this stuff in the Ultima Line is awesome and with proper prep the first time (wash with PH balanced soap, clean paint, clay every inch of the vehicle, polish with proper polish and a DA polisher) then apply this UPGP polymer paint sealant. (You use so little of the sealant you really do not even see it go on but it does). It is a super concentrated Polymer. After doing the proper steps of the prep and finshing up with a light coat of the sealant, from now on any time you want to apply another coat of sealant it takes all of 10 minutes! Awesome shine and gloss! Just wipe it on and walk away! No wipeing anything! Doing a Google on this Ultima PGP I found that some people like it better than the Zaino ( I personally have never tried Zaino so I can not make a fair compairison) and there are some diehard Zaino fans out there. They say it takes about 1/4 ounce of this UPGP product to treat most full-size cars, but I found it actually takes much less. It does cost a little more but if you read your latest "Fast Times" newsletter from Bavarian Autosport they even say when it comes to a good wax to figure your cost per use as to how many times can you protect or wax your vehicle with cheaper wax? Now how many times can you get out of your more expensive wax or sealant? How well does the cheaper stuff protect vs the more expensive stuff? With cheaper stuff you have to wax more often costing you more money and labor. What is your time worth to protect all of your hard prep work? I was skeptical about this stuff at first but after using it this weekend on my Bimmer and my wifes Jeep Liberty I am no longer a skeptic. I was using NXT 2 and it did well but still did not seem to hold up as long as I liked and I still wanted more depth. I think I finally found what I was looking for this weekend with this stuff. (I also bought a new PC 7424 and a few other items from the ultima/ Four Star Line). Sunday morning I went back out and used a MF towel and wiped any light dust off and applied a second coat of this stuff and no BS...10 minutes is all it took and today the paint looks deep and wet! (gotta love that!) ![]() You can layer it after a 12 hour cure time! I love the shine that a good nuba gives but in this hot Florida sun it just does not hold up for more than a few days. Try this UPGP and I think you'll like it but please do all of your paint prep first no matter what sealer or wax you decide to use or you are just waiting money and time. Sorry this post was so long but I wanted to share my weekend results with you all. I will try to get pics posted soon. I was so exhausted from the prep work on both vehicles as it was HOT this weekend here on the island and all the beer that i drank while working on the cars made me not want to do anything else after I was done! ![]() |
