Having issues with my ABS, DSC and Brake lights illuminating in yellow after emoving the lowering springs. Ran the BT and came up with an array of codes pertaining to the DSC:

5D93
5DE1
5DE0
5D96
5D90

I cleared all the codes but 5D90 keeps coming back and the lights won't go away. The flash out momentarily upon clearing but come right back.

I tried resetting the steering angle sensor, checked all the wheel speed sensors, got an alignment, checked the related fuses but still can't figure it out. Can anybody help me?

Not sure what 5d90 is. Try resetting the ecu and other stuff in the bt software or driving it awhile and see if it goes away. If it's a sensor, sometime you can disconnect and reconnect while the car is on and that reestablishes the connection. You then stop and restart the car and the codes vanish. These cars have minds of their own...

I tried resetting the ecu and dsc ecu and dash ecu but nothing has worked. Next think to try is tendering the battery.

Are you still under warranty? Since you are pretty much bone stock now, you totally could take it in to the stealership and have it looked over.

nah man.... if I was under warranty I wouldn't even think ywice before taking it to the dealership when something went wrong since I am stock

Try disconnecting the sensor when the car is on, reconnecting, and stopping and restarting the car.

Which sensor are you talking about?

I tried disconnecting the dsc/abs harness while it was running and then reconnecting it but that didn't do anything except cause an airbag code that I had to erase.

All of the codes refer to solenoids and valves and control units and relays so I have a feeling it is the abs/dsc modulator that is attached to the pump itself. I really wish there was a way to confirm that though

Trevor where are you located? It may day but on my iPhone app it doesn't say. Anywhere near Hampton roads? Pm if so.

Erroneous Brake Pad Replacement Message
MODEL
E90, E91, E92, E93 (3 Series) from start of production to 9/07
SITUATION
The Dynamic Stability Control module (DSC) calculates the brake pad replacement intervals based on
information from the front and rear axle brake pad wear sensors. When replacement of the front and or
rear brake pads is necessary, the DSC control module triggers an indicator lamp located in the vehicle's
instrument cluster. However, the brake pad indicator lamp may be illuminated although a replacement of
the brake pads is not necessary. Additionally, one or both of the following fault codes may be stored in
the DSC control module:

5DE0 Brake-pad wear: plausibility, front axle

5DE1 Brake-pad wear: plausibility, rear axle
CAUSE
DSC software error
PROCEDURE
1. Perform a short test with the GT-1.
2. If DSC has faults 5DE0 and or 5DE1, enter the test plan.
3. In the test plan, check the CBS data.
4. If the CBS data shows a value within the nominal range (100% or less), work through the entire
test plan.
5. If the CBS data shows an erroneous value such as 255%, the vehicle must be programmed.
6. Program the vehicle with the most recent Progman version (target data status E89X-07-09-518 or
later). Refer to SI B09 05 01 (Coding, Individualization, Programming), Procedure B.
Note that Progman will automatically reprogram all programmable control modules that do not have the
latest software.

I changed my front pads and sensor the other day so that is what caused the 5D93, 5DE1 and 5DE0 codes. I was able to clear them and they have not returned.

5D96 has come back once but it will not cause any lights

5D90 refuses to clear and is what is causing the warning lights. The only info it gives is that it is 'excessive wheel sensor invalid' and ' valve relay. fw open. error caused by too many recognized individual valve errors-defective fuse?'

Any info on those 2 codes, mainly the 5D90?

5D90 and 5D96 were caused by a faulty front driver side wheel sensor. I bought the parts fron ECS Tuning(front wheel speed sensor and plastic fitting that it plugs into) and installed them in a matter of 10 mintues. Drove the car 100 yards and the codes/lights went away. All is back to normal.

Sorry for bump an old thread, but FTR, the "front wheel speed sensor" is called "Front ABS sensor" in ECS, FCP et al.
