What is this, April Fools Day? There is no full screen option and never was. This has been discussed here many times in the past. People who "remember" having a full screen map are just mistaken.

Haha, I love how people are so certain that you can't have a full screen, I guess I've just been dreaming for the last 3 months...Anyway I'm going to send the car back to the service and have them take it off even if they have to reload it...I hate assist window!!!

Take a photo of it once you get it back to full screen and I'll believe you. Unless things have changed with the newer models, there's no "full screen" option, never was.

I got a 2008 Model and picked it up beginning of March, so hopefully they can get it back to the way I like it and will definitely take a photo....before and after

No one's really asking whether possible to have a full screen because the people who have seen it know that it is. You're right that there is no "option" to select a full screen display once the assist window has been opened. But some people did get it form the factory with a full screen display. The dozens of people who have experienced and reported it on this forum, Bimmerfest, and others are not collectively dreaming or mistaken. From what I have seen, it seems to have occurred more often among people who live outside the U.S. or who did ED, but there are a few reports of full screen displays popping up at U.S. dealerships.

I had a full screen map display when I picked my car up at the ED point in Munich, but I opened the assist window as soon as I pulled out of the garage so that I could see the map while I was entering a destination. I prefer the split screen, and haven't ever been upset about losing the full screen display. But it was there. Like I said, had I known this was a rare event when I took delivery, I would have taken photos.

I wouldn't be too optimistic about that. People have reported that rebooting, resetting, and removing/reapplying power doesn't do the trick. I would think that the only way the it *might* be possible would be to completely re-initialize the entire system so that it is as it was when it was first installed. I don't even know if there is a way to do that, and, even if there was, there is still a good chance that it wouldn't work.
