The single intake (in your photo) has bends that match up with the angles. If it doesnt match up, you might have it reversed, or possibly rotated into the wrong posistion. Read the install instructios carefully, it explains the proper angle.

Insert the adapter further into the flange and then try again. Also, try turning the filter clockwise to see if that will make it any better.

Taking the fuel rail and parts off makes this soooooooooooo much simpler... Probably faster in the end even though you have to take the extra pieces off. I could not imagine fiddling with the filter with all those things in the way. I am sure its possible but damm it makes life complicated. Taking the HVAC and stuff off is super simple.

Thanks for the suggestion guys. I will work on it more this evening. It just seems like the oem inlet tube is at an angle where I can't get it straight w/out the filter touching the throttle body. |

right i installed the lil bugger and in the process i lost my torx 'bit' in the bumper so cudnt tighten up one side of the snorkel! now off to get another one..... grrrrrr
i now have a few questions... mine is a RHD car and the vac tube is a different shape? takes a different route? ive circled the parts im concerned about. the other circled area is that the bottom of the cone thats made of rubber is resting against the engine, will it melt it?!!! also is there a way to make to air scoop face more directly into the cones? cheers Last edited by G33; 01-12-2010 at 01:04 AM.. |

Here is what it looks like on the LHD cars... looks like the rear filter sits different.
I don't think you would need to worry about it melting, but you could always check it after a few drives... |

im concerned about heat tho, i need to try and make the air scoop face the cones a bit better. the rear cone is v. close to the engine.
ive searched but not many use heat shields to enhance the cones effectiveness... |

BMS is working on a heat shield that will be an add-on.
