experience with 60,000 mile service
I am at 58K miles and starting to get the 60K service indicator lights.
I can't find anything to indicate what is done at a 60K inspection. I'd rather have my reliable independent shop do it but I would feel more comfortable if I knew what is involved. Anyone go through this yet?

I'm at 54k right now, looking at changing oil, filter, in cabin filter, fuel filter, flush engine coolant, c/o rear diff. oil, brake flush, inspect plugs, and maybe power steering fluid c/o
BMW keeps on telling me "fluids are lifetime so no need to replace" but, I prefer to do preventative maintenance since I will own my car for a while after warranty is up.

I am at 58K and will probably go in for the 60K soon. My SA tells me it runs about $1,100 in the MD area.
Interesting I had a service light at 54K for $300. Then i noticed the counter was counting down again. Hence the 60K is now due. |

The Inspection II is very similar to Inspection I. They really don't do much but look and check stuff... They don't do any kind of fluid changes. I'm planning on doing all of my own maintenance once my warranty is up.

58K as well, so for I did the oil change, oil filter, micro filter, and engine air filter. I have not decided what to do with the brake flush yet (still debating in my brain cells).

I may change the brake pads out even though they tell me I have a lot of pad left. As noted in the post it does not appear the inspection II changes much the $1,100 price tab. |
