Small curb on my wheel

Curbed my wheel coming out of a tight starbucks, annoying.. rear passenger.

Do they really need to powdercoat the whole wheel? It's gloss black, is it going to be easy to match? They seem to think so.

Are there any other repair options that just repair that small area? It's probably less than an inch.

I damaged mine pretty horribly on a curb and was able to get it to basically disappear with a touch up stick

Your link is for flat black. Would you use flat or semi-gloss, or gloss if they have it?

I found a 1.5 inch rash on my left rear wheel rim yesterday. I haven't parked near a curb on that side since I put these wheels on the car so I have literally zero idea what happened. Pot hole? Debris on the road? Really tiny and angry gargoyle attacked my car? No clue.

Grr.

I refuse to go into a drive thru with concrete on both sides or a tight turn. Arby's is my enemy from my previous vehicle. I keep a towel in my car and when I park next to a curb, I put it on steering wheel to remind me because I'm getting senile.
Picture shows towel to the right because that's where curb is🤣

I like it. Low tech solutions are sometimes the best.

Find a reputable wheel repair guy in your area and they should be able to fix it in no time for about $150.

My wife curbed her gloss black wheel on her Honda Pilot and we had a mobile wheel repair guy come to the house and he had it looking like new in under 30 minutes.

Ever valet the car? We do our X7 regularly and one time the valet was honest enough to tell me he rubbed the curb when he was parking. They were ready and willing to pay for the damage but after looking it over it was just a light rub on the tire and didn’t catch the wheel thankfully. I suspect not all valets are that honest.

Agreed, some things are so dumb they're genius. This is one of them.

Totally stealing this idea.

LOL this is hilarious, I can relate. I usually leave my car key next to something I need to take with me so I can't leave without it.

I took my M240 to a BMW dealership and got my curb rash fixed for about $200CAD. Probably could have got it cheaper elsewhere but felt a bit more comfortable taking it to BMW

Lol... it works, I tired of giving my money to the wheel guy.

Any they probably just farmed the job out to a local mobile wheel repair guy.

Steel wool works wonders on scuffs--even deep ones, on aluminum wheels. Touch up paint after and 99%+ would never notice it. Use polish to buff in the t/u paint.
