FRM Module Unreachable After Angle Eye Coding
Hello all. I have been successfully and comfortably coding my 2011 328 for a few months now. Retrofitted sport seats (coded out the active headrests), windows up with lock button, one touch 5x turn signals, etc.
Came across an interesting option in NCS under the FRM module: "VERHALTEN_DRL_TFL". By default it was set it "DRL_H" in my module - day time running lights use the high beam. After some research, it seemed possible to change the value to "DRL_S" to use the angle eyes as day time running lights. Successfully changed the value and uploaded it to my module as normal. Cycled my ignition then went to put the headlights on auto and the check engine light came on, throwing system light failure CCID 231. I can no longer access the FRM module through NCS or INPA (when attempted it says VIN is faulty), but my headlights low beams stay on constantly - even when the car is off and headlights turned off. I'm afraid I bricked my FRM module but am not certain. For now my headlights and battery are unplugged until it can be fixed. Have seen ways of reprogramming / resetting counts with tool32 and winfkp but have yet to attempt anything. Or just buy a replacement module and hope that does it. Any and all advice is welcome! |

Would a used module from another same spec car work? A few available at a local junkyard, and $600 new is daunting. Thanks for the reply! |
