German Cars!
I am having a flashback of my VW Jetta!!! In the winter my trunk somethimes wont close because the medal clip wont close... The plastic around my back window got detached! And the latest, my hood wont open!!!!!
CAN SOMEONE HELP ME WITH MY HOOD, I need to put windshield fluid?? It pops up, but the metal part you need to move to lift it, is jammed... I am not happy with these stupid problems, I never had these problems with hondas, or even my chevy... |

Sorry man, take it to a mechanic or dealer if you have warranty.
Unfortunately BMW is not a very reliable car. Its just not, you have to take the good and the bad and decide what is greater and if its acceptable to you. I know, I have both a BMW and a Toyota. My toyota was half the cost and has never had a single problem or hicup in the 14K miles I have raccked up. My 335 with 12K is a different story. Electronic gremlins landed me at the dealer 7 times so far with a period of 5 months where the car was basically unsuable and sat at the shop 3 continous weeks at one point. Its not had issues since the last fix 3 months ago, but still. If it was a lease, I'd be so damn pissed loosing 5 months. I am pissed about it still, but not nearly as much as a lease would have pissed me.

Pretty much except the bad apple comes up more with BMW I geuss.
I am also on my 5th BMW. First two were excellent. 3rd (E46 M3 had endless prob from one bumper to the next and everything in between) Bought it as a dealer demo with 9K, on 52K I had had more than my share and traded it for the E46 330ci. The car was excellent except the freakin infamous GM steptronic tranny. I got the car new. Tranny failed at 90miles and was replaced. Then failed again at 110K and I had to pay $6K. By 127K, I could tell tranny trouble was brewing again and sold the sucker. I had sworn off BMW but the 335 won me back. It had electronic issues for the first 5 months but now runs like a charm. I thionk it will prove reliable in the long run. I have had Toyota, actually since my first car 82 Celica that was a tank of a car. No matter what I did, I couldn't break it. At 227K and never a dealer repair was pretty amazing. I hated the damn duck in the end so much I never used to break for speed bumps still the shocks went all soggy and it was looser than a 90y/o teeth, but couldn't break a thing and everything still worked. I sold it for $500. Anyway side to side nothing drives like a BMW, but its below average on reliability is my take on it.
