DIY Bumper Cover Repaint

After weighing my options, I have decided to paint my bumper cover myself, as it is way cheaper and I'm not looking for absolute perfection. I plan on buying color matched paint from AutomotiveTouchup.com, along with adhesion promoter, primer, and 2k clear from amazon. If anyone has any tips/tricks or suggestions, please let me know. Also, how many cans do you guys think I will need for 2-3 base coats on the bumper, with each can containing 12oz.
Thanks!

How much is a body shop charging you? $500-$1000?

Have you heard of the saying: Buy once, Cry once.

If you're not gonna use an air gun then forget it. another thing is dust, so you'll need some kind of a booth.

Supplies alone are gonna run you a good amount and it's still gonna look like shit.

This isn't knocking your talent or abilities whatsoever. It will NOT turn out good, just take it in. You need to have the right hardeners, the right pressure, a perfectly clean environment, right humidity and temp, etc. It will flake off within a year if you rattle can it and won't look right to start with. Even in CA you should be able to get it done for $500

If you invest the time and prep and all and do it with a 2k clear can it can come out as good for sure. But yeah it does come near the price of just getting it done at a shop.

I've DIY painted parts and they have come out looking just like if you took it to a shop; However it takes a lotttttt of time(prep work) for that.

For bumpers make sure you use a proper bumper adhesion promoter and primer (so that it wont crack/blister at the slightest stone chip.

And also if you think you've sanded smooth enough; keep going because there's likely a few things you missed. Also do an extra few clear coats(not too heavy though) so you can wetsand and buff it all out
