Replace Transmission wiring plug

Does anyone know how to depin the transmission wiring plug to replace it? link to the connector https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...03442#warranty
I think I broke mine since the car doesn't know what position the shifter (PRND) is in after servicing the transmission.

I believe so.

I'm pretty sure the problem is the connector since I can't get it to lock on the transmission and wiggling it causes different warning and/or P, N, and D to appear in the dash.

Did you forget to pull down the white tab inside the trans when you removed the connector/ forget to push the white tab up when re inserting the connector?

I pulled it out to disconnect the seal. It remained that way (because it didn't want to go back in) until after the valve body was connected and the new seal shoved in.

I learned trick from 335dlci to use lever bar with small piece of wood to push on the connector sleeve. I got it to move another couple mm forward doing this. While doing this, you try to push up on white tab to get it to lock in place.

Unfortunately, you don't really have enough room to do the lever bar trick unless you remove the transmission cross member (at least me). I put a jack stand under transmission to support while no cross member in.

This is what I get for going off of memory from the last time I did it instead of researching it.

Since I filled the pan already does anyone know if I could jump the starter solenoid to start the car for a few minutes for the fluid to mix?

Got the car working I did break the plug but you can remove the locking ring and replace it without de pinning the plug and the gear shift wasn't connected properly on the valve body.

You can start the car by jumping the starter solenoid but you better have a way to kill the engine because I couldn't turn the car off from the button by rapidly pushing it or holding it. The first time I killed it by turning off the lift pump with Bavarian technic but since that probably isn't good for the CP3 the 2nd time I killed it by dumping CO2 into the in take.

Damn man, that sounds like a lot of trouble, I'm kinda laughing a bit right now. I wonder if the main issue was the gear selector not lined up (like mine was a few weeks ago after a service). But of course you did break the connector so there's that too. I'm assuming you had to drop the pan to verify the selector, so you drained the pan, and in doing so didn't really have to jump start the car after all since you captured and reused the fluid? What is the process for killing an engine with CO2, lol. I'm just imagining you with a bottle of shielding gas fully open, whooshing out, pointed at your grill, lol.

Had to drop the pan to fix the gear selector and verify the the white tab was inserted correctly. Started the car to pump the fresh fluid in the pan through the transmission so when I drain it it would be a mix of old fluid as well.

The car was started twice because after starting I wanted to see if it would engage in any gear but while off it let me move the gear selector with the engine running it didn't. Next time I put it in neutral then started it but since the selector wasn't hooked up nothing happened. Also the radio and cluster won't turn off (even with the doors closed and locked) I had to disconnect the battery to get those off.

I have a CO2 tank (about the size of a scuba tank) I just unclipped the air filter box, opened it and angled to tank valve to spray into the intake a couple seconds later the engine died.
