Has a little tint of orange in some angles and depends on lighting but it's the best color launch for the G87 imho.. would prefer the Melbourne Red if it is an available option though..

Does anyone have experience with Guard Red from Porsche. I know that red also leaned more Orange in direct sun light conditions.. Never seen Toronto Red in person, so anyone have experience with both colors? Are they very similar?

That's a good color to compare it to verse various different reds from other manufactures. It definitely leans more towards that color. It's not the same obviously but I think Toronto leans slighty more orangey. If you like Guards then you'll probably like Toronto. I will say that I felt Toronto on my X3M had the most orange hue when it was overcast out instead of high sun.

I looked around on Google images to find something that I personally felt looked fairly close to real life and I would look at the pictures from this page here: https://www.reddit.com/r/BMW/comment..._bmw_2021_x3m/ . Click through the pictures this person posted and you'll see how it looks in a few different lightning conditions and I feel that it's very close to real life. You'll see how the last two photos look a lot more orange in the slightly overcast shots.

Guards Red is a flat paint. Toronto Red is metallic. TR is offered on a variety of current M vehicles and because of such it should not be an issue to find one to see the color in person.

If you are in a city it shouldn't be hard to find an X3/4M, X5/6M, or G8x in TR.

Thanks for this. I didn't realize how orange TR looked in overcast - I wonder if it looks overly polarizing with cars that have red calibers equipped.

It's a must to paint that muffler black.

I get a very Melbourne Red vibe from this color. TR might be a little more orange. You would need them parked next to each other to get a proper comparison.

Any local BMW dealer should have a TR paint sample that can be taken from their sample rig and held outside in different light conditions or near cars with similar colours. It has tints of orange in shade conditions, bright red in strong sunlight and some slight shades of brown under artificial light, based on the sample I looked at.

This might show it better. Like I previously said, you would have to have them side by side for a true representation. Same lighting conditions would also help a lot. These are just a couple examples from some internet searches attempting to get as close to comparable lighting as possible. Not exact. At the end of the day, they are very similar.

Thanks for the response and the link. Hope to see the color in person, if not I think I am going with black. Live in Chicago area(very close to a dealer) and all there is black, white, grey, silver. Always looking when driving hoping to see TR but nothing. All I see is brooklyn grey on the M4's around here. Number #8 on the list here , I guess will have some time.

I often see a TR M4 around here, in my opinion this color looks better in photos than in reality, it's too orangish for me.

Surprised this made front page. Didn't this release same day as the premier?

Here is another pic of TR in day light - taken at the performance center. In real life, it really does look red (I can see some orange in the paint now that I'm looking closely at it) but a glance at in real life will not give off the impression that there is any orange in the paint work
