The stock HPFP can't flow much more than what it takes to make 575-600hp. And that's assuming it's a new HPFP is good shape. There are no HPFP upgrades for these cars. If you need more fueling you need to add an additional port injection setup.

A stage 3 LPFP will flow a lot more fuel than the HPFP can use. Even. A stage 2 LPFP will outflow the HPFP. Most people only go to a stage 3 LPFP when it's used to also supply fuel to the port injection setup.

How much power are you making/planning on making?

Not sure I would trust the whole "drilling out the HPFP to get an extra 300psi" stuff. The pump only flows so much fuel....if it was easy/reliable/safe to get more output out of them, people would be doing that instead of spending a bunch of money on port injection.

If you want to get up into the 600++ power range...port injection is pretty much a must. Just remember, once you start getting up over 600hp you are going to have to worry about the transmission, driveshaft, axles, diff, etc,etc.....and then you need to worry about putting the power to the pavement.

Not saying it can't be done....but the "sweet" spot for these cars as far as money spent vs. HP gained seems to be around the 550-ish mark. Over that and it takes big bucks to make that kind of power reliability, without something breaking all the time.

Good luck 👍

If you want 750-800hp.... I'm ssuming you will be running a big single turbo setup. And if that's the case, you are probably going to be running e85 with big fuel pumps, and a port injection setup. Also....what's transmission are you going to be running?...because the 6HP21 won't handle that, and the 6 speed manual might handle it for a little bit..but not long. Aftermarket diff? Aftermarket axles?

These cars are 300hp stock....800hp is going to destroy everything in the driveline unless you upgrade it.

More info!! 👍

yeah no, you could do those things like drilling ur fuel line or like removing the hpfp filter, but that wont change anything tbh. If your looking for power that range, look into PI, u can do hobb switches or jus stay with a single 535 walbro or something and it will work fine. Reliability becomes a guessing game after 600whp. 750-800, your looking at some serious power (almost 1000 to the crank) stock motor will not hold too long with that.

that engine at 800whp will last shorter then a 6at with xhp stage 3

The plans are still in the works. I have stumbled upon the ability to obtain as many n54's as I can destroy pretty much, please don't ask me how. Part of the reason I am on this forum now.

My opinion after looking at it, and tearing down 100's of different engines,.... In my opinion, I think its the "new 2JZ" or the closest thing we could hope for.

I am going to do some serious testing on it before I spend a very large amount of $$ and I have some concerns about real high end support for this platform and may have to consider the possibility of custom parts. When I get a better understanding of what the stock internals can handle, crankshaft, etc. then I can better decide the direction I will go.

If things go right, I am thinking after the testing phase -750-800 WHP, approximately 970 HP to the crank as mentioned above, the next goal will be 1200 HP to the crank. Pretty sure I can pass 1000 to the crank easy on a modified stock intake manifold and a single 7275. (I am hoping for testing purposes, will have plenty). Will see if the stock internals will hold.

As far now I have reason to believe (If I can find the right support) I can take this engine north of 1500 HP.

I really don't think anyone has attempted this. By the end of it, the only thing that will be true BMW 335 will be the block, head possibly and the chassis.
Just wondering how you are going to build these 900++ hp motors and keep it cheap while you do testing? I don't think there is a way to make a 900++hp N54 and keep it cheap.

Do you have your own dyno setup? I can't imagine all the tuning and dyno time would be cheap, unless you have your own equipment.

Look around on line, there are plenty of people who have pushed these motor well past the breaking point. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
