E90 alarms

where to get one. Obviously I am not gonna pay $595 for a oem alarm when it costs $295 to buy.

Good link Frank.

Then if you're handy, there are two DIY's for installing the alarm yourself in the DIY list - http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1721

(just do an E90 series search)
Might be alittle more than one you could get on Ebay, but I felt more comfortable buying from a dealer, no question as to whether its real.
My dealer then only charged me $47.00 to activate it.

That's a great price! As far as installing it, it's straight forward...no splicing of wires. The clown nose should start blinking once the installation is complete. Also, the motion and jack-up sensor is active. You need to have the dealer initiate the alarm to have the blinking lights and chirp sound when opening/locking the car using the fob.
My SA did two paperwork's when I had my oem alarm initiated. The first was for updating the software of different modules to the current version & covered under warranty. The second was adding the software for the alarm to the system and my SA charged me $50.00 + tax. Overall, it took them 2 1/2 hrs to initiate the alarm & update the software of my Bimmer.
