38a4 CODE? no IBS cable??

2012 335i coupe xDrive Msport
93.3k miles daily driver

Battery died on me a few weeks ago and i had it replaced. When they went to replace it, indy shop told me there was a code for the IBS cable but said it could just be from the battery being low voltage. I said just replace the battery and they did, and no dash lights on or anything, just like before it went dead.

Through DCAN cable and android app i read all the codes and then I got a 38a4 and a 3884 error code. Says “IBS miscommunication” and “IBS misssing”

So i looked online and did some searching on the forums and found stuff about the cable and replacing it, as well as pictures and where it plugs in and what not. Turns out, I don’t even see the IBS cable on my battery. If i’m not mistaken, it’s supposed to be right on the negative terminal and plugged into the blue spot on the big red plastic? I just have one cable going to ground from the negative terminal.

I’m a little baffled and confused. Do I not have an IBS cable? if so, why did the shop not tell i don’t even have one me after they said i had a code for it? Did the shop replace it with a regular ground or did I never have one? Anything helps thanks everyone. Sorry if I seem ignorant, just kinda lost.

yes, still have no idea what is going on. Should i just buy an ibs cable and connect it? Battery health shows 100% but it is brand new
