Space Kimchi! OMG!
First korean in space and this guy is going to bring Kimchi with him onto the space shuttle! You can't even air it out!
Article on LA Times "'Koreans can't go anywhere without kimchi,' said Byun Myung-woo, head of a team of scientists who developed a specially sterilized form of kimchi for astronauts. The idea came about because taste and smell are greatly diminished in low-gravity conditions, giving astronauts a preference for strongly spiced foods. And astronauts often suffer from digestive problems. 'The kimchi will prevent constipation and enhance their digestive functions,' Byun said. Space kimchi is expected to make its debut in 2008..."

So you had Kimchi before? I am not korean but I have eaten it before, I am not sure if it is the same thing you are refering too. Some sort of veggie plant soaked in a spicy fluid in a jar (home made kimchi).

Naw, Kimchi's taste is good. It's almost like.... salsa in a way. But boy does it stink up the place. Imagine you're stuck in a space shuttle with kimchi, hahaha.

lol, I like cheese and kimchi. Especially those high priced dry ones (the good ones don't smell bad).
Same thing for kimchi, there are different types. Some people really don't know how to make good kimchi and it smells kinda bad. |

Most cultures have some stinky tasty stuff, but I wouldn't take Limburger cheese, Lutefisk or Kim Chee aboard a tiny space capsule.
