335is manual pricing?

hey all

looking at getting into a 335is since my s4 got totalled, and found a relatively clean one nearby. details are as follows

2011 BMW 335is
M Sport package
Manual 6 speed transmission
Technology package with GPS
Black leather interior with patterned Aluminum trim
85,000 miles
ad says "meticulously" cared for (will verify with service records/carfax)

the seller is asking 24k, which i find maybe 2k too steep, but all the other is' im finding are 18-20k for dcts with 20-40k more miles and (probably) worse condition. what does everyone else think?

thanks in advance!

I've been looking at the N54/N55 market. 24k is a bit steep. Is the body in perfect condition? If there are no dings/clear coat issues then the price is ok.

Any questionable mods/turbo upgrades/tunes etc? That would bring the value down.

body appears to be in pretty much perfect condition. the only mods listed are an ER aluminum chargepipe, koni shocks, and some brake upgrades. no tune or any other power mods.

heres a copy of the ad and some pictures

I'm selling my BMW 335is. It's in amazing shape. It has been garage kept and meticulously cared for. the motor has never been tuned and the car has never been hooned. This is truly a factory prepped track car that is comfortable enough to be a daily driver.

That's a beautiful example. Looks like the owner really took care of it. Ceramic coated, not one bolt or bracket in the engine bay shows corrosion. I'd pay the price to have one.

You might have to do the usual Waterpump/thermostat at some point, not sure if the 335is has an improved HPFP. Most likely has decent injectors. Maybe someone on the forum that owns a 335i can chime in.

the is is appealing mainly cause of the better tune and cooling bits. do the msports get the cooling stuff as well?

tune is worthless, get mhd and go even faster. the higher watt fan and aux radiator (great thought but small size) is not much of an upgrade either imo.

The iS mt is upgraded keep in mind too which handles up to 550whp/torque and is debated as an upgraded clutch option for upgraded turbos

I would say as long as injectors are decently up to date and not on originals it seems worth the price in this case as not modded seriously and comes with 19's and seems pretty fully loaded

High end of book is $17k. While used car prices are still high, I personally wouldn't pay a $7k premium for any car, and I'm a original owner of a 49k mile 2013 335is. I look at this from a financial standpoint, you'll need to add sales tax on top of the price, so add 6%-8% on top plus title/registration fees. Unless you're paying cash, loan value and 7% interest also comes into play. And, insurance will not pay that amount back out if something happens and it gets totaled, you could be out of thousands of dollars. That's just the way I look at it, if you want the car, do what feels right for you.

That's a fair price in this market--if it's more than you're willing to pay, can't argue with that, but he will probably get asking price for it if not very close. 22k is not an unreasonable offer. Show up with cash and he just might take it.

yeah, i hear you. unfortunately thats just the way the market is these days, and its a terrible time to buy. sales tax wise, i can get out of that here in SC due to being military, but the rest is all valid. i'm not dead set on the is, but getting into a sorted N54 is appealing to me.

yep. there are very few manual is i've seen searching, and most are dct and modded/beat on with more miles for only a few grand less. i'm now just waiting on insurance to deal with current car and hoping some of the cars i'm looking at dont sell before then.

Blue book value is entirely irrelevant on cars like these especially right now.
