Question K & N air filters - should I upgrade ?

Can any member advise if changing the stock air filter to an K&N air filter is worth the upgrade in the sense of mileage, horsepower ?
Just curious to see if I'll make the change or not.

personally, i like the "open" air filters. (Dual cone, BMS, UR...) But if you want to keep ur stock airbox and just get a better replacement filter, look into the BMC or the HELENA filter

I can't say I've ever even noticed it was there. I noticed no changes what-so-ever. That said, I'm sure it filters dirt better than stock.

I can't feel any differences on my N52 E90 to be honest. I've felt more of a difference (if any) on my 99 Civic. I did however noted slightly more audible intake noise, I think thats about the extent of it.
