e90 n55 emissions - ready, but 3106
I have a project car that I picked up that apparently is tuned on MHD Stage 2+. I didn't know this when I grabbed it. It also has aftermarket DPs.
Now, after completing the required time for drive cycles, I got all the OBD equipment to show 'ready', even catalyst. However, I know that MHD is hiding the CEL for 3106 efficiency code. My question is, will that be an automatic fail? I assume yes since the OBD equipment will likely see that code even though MHD hides it... |

Depending on what state you reside in, there can be 1 or even up to 2 emission flags that are flagged as not ready and still pass. So if the cat flag is the only one still showing not ready you should have no issues.
Except in Cali where they all have to be flagged as passing. |

Interesting. It is only $25 to go for emissions, so after I get an actual exhaust on this car, I will go give it a try. Might as well potentially save myself some trouble.
I'm actually adding an exhaust with a secondary cat, so that should help my cause. Last edited by acarpenter86; 02-01-2023 at 11:25 AM.. |
