racingdiffs - any good?
Looking for a bit of LSD effect, but can't justify the £$¥ for a quaife/etc. Anyone have experience with the racingdiffs products?

I think there's a youtube video review of this. It might be by vehicular DIY, but can't remember for sure. IIRC it worked pretty well, actually provided more lock than advertised and wasn't too chattery. It held up for the duration of his testing. It's a lot of work and won't be quite as consistent as one of the big name LSD's but if you don't mind wrenching and the e-diff isn't cutting it, this should do the trick.
EDIT: here it is |

Seen that video, but thanks anyhow. Was wondering if anyone has long term feedback maybe? I couldn't find the follow up video mentioned at the end of the video...? This car is my daily, so needs to be fully reliable too. I can do regular oil changes etc, just don't want anything failing without plenty warning!
To be fair, all I need is a traction aid. I'm not running much power, but I do have a heavy rear sway bar - great for mid corner balance, but snappy if you get on it a hair early or too hard out of a corner. I imagine ~25% lock would work nicely. |
