Budget Fuel Pump Upgrade?

Hey guys, im recently thinking about upgrade my fuel pump to get some more juice out of my n54, but im currently on a tight budget, according to my research, a full bucket assembly upgrade will cost couple hundred bucks, im thinking is it possible to DIY replace the fuel pump in stock bucket to a walbro 525 or something similar, the main issue i think would be wiring and fit it to stock pump bracket, anyone have done that before? Thanks!
