front camber plates for tire rubbing- for DD
hello,
i'm a new owner of a pre-lci e90 335i. this is my first post. i've installed M3 control arms all around, otherwise suspension is stock. i've purchased new 17x9 wheels and want to run a beefy 255/40 tire. i'm concerned about rubbing in the front. so i'd like to get some camber plates for a slight lift. Turner has a fixed camber plate that allows for -2.5 camber. this is a daily driver, so would this be overkill (too much camber) or recommended? https://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-5...camber-plates/ any advice would be appreciated. from another post by Vivec. "Anthony at ECS confirmed that we should expect a total of -2.5* after installation, not an increase of -2.5* over stock. so about -1.75" |

You should be fine with just the camber pin pulled and the struts slid inward in the strut tower slots. With stock springs, this should put you at roughly -1.8 deg in my experience.
Those turner plates add -.7 just like the dinan plates. They are essentially identical. You can get -2.5 with those + the M3 arms, and while I'd highly recommend -2.5, you don't need that much just to clear your wheels I have 18x9 et30 with 255/35r18 Conti DWS and I don't rub at all. M3 arms, KW street comfort about 1" lower than stock and Dinan plates. My camber is at -2.8. I'm going to remove the plates and go down to about 2 degrees simply because I like the look better and it will still have plenty of bite at 2 deg. My wheels look fairly sunken in with this much camber. |

I have 255/40-17 on 17x9 et30 with track tires that run wider than regular tires, no pins pulled, camber plates, or m3 control arms, on BMW yellow performance springs, so I low, no issues what so ever. This thread doesn’t mention offset at all. Very important in wheel fitment.

Dinan also has camber plates that are the same design idea as the turner ones. The Dinan version only adds .7 degrees and they are sometimes on sale for a little less than the current price of the turner ones..
I have a set of the Dinan plates l but haven't needed to use them. -Rich |

-2.5 degrees might be good if you autocross or if you take the car to the track frequently. On a primarily street vehicle, you might find it wears out the inner shoulders of the tires too quickly.

I honestly don't have any weird tire wear. In like 45k miles at -2.8 I had slight inner wear. With zero toe and normal driving, I'm wearing totally normally at -2.5 camber
