N52 Engine Bay Smoking
I started up my car today and it was smoking from the drivers side (right side) at the front. Would it be from oil leaking from my valve cover gasket that’s hitting my exhaust wire? If so is it okay to dive with it until I get my gasket and my seals fixed, I had a look in my engine bay but I don’t have the tools to really have a deep dive into it, help would be much appreciated as I don’t want to spend a lot on replacing something I don’t need to

Definitely sounds like the valve cover gasket. It shouldn't hurt anything if it leaks, it'll just smoke and smell bad. I left the one on my old E92 alone for 12k miles and it never hurt anything. Though if the VCG is going out, then I imagine the oil filter housing gasket isn't far behind. That leak can cause serious damage if left alone, luckily it's much cheaper and easier to replace the OFHG, so I would definitely check yours out.
