LCI xenons - LED turn signal flickering
I have LCI xenons on my 330i, but powered by the original FRM from my car (early 12/05 build). The only coding I did was to disable the adaptive lights, disable the side marker, and disable the bulb checks. Occasionally however the turn signals are flickering while in use. This isn't the bulb check flickering, but a flickering while in use - the turn signal flashing frequency is fine but when the LED array is on it flickers.
I found an old post about someone who put LCI xenons on their Pre-LCI and had this same issue, fixed by coding the pulse width modulation for the turn signals. This person had NFRM though. I have the older FRM and don't have this PWM_BLK_V value to modify in my TRC file. |

the flickering isn't consistent, it only happens occasionally. I'm wondering if the LED modules are faulty. I'd rather try and diagnose it before getting a new FRM.
At that point I should just grab a FRM3 and a LCI trunk lid and tail lights. |

I installed a new battery and no more turn signal flickering! Previous owner of my car had installed a H6 battery and it was starting to degrade (hard to start, discharge warning after a few minutes of being parked sitting in the car in accessory mode). I installed a H8 battery and first thing I noticed is that the turn signals don't flicker any more.
I also noticed my LED angel eye bulbs don't slightly flicker when revving the engine either. |
