Removing XHP Correctly? Error 4F8A.

Hi folks. Is there anything special that needs to be done when removing xHP? Like resetting adaptations which then you need to relearn or anything? I went through the uninstall steps in the app which all worked correctly and everything seemed to be fine after, but it has started throwing "4F8A gear ratio monitoring 5-4" after around 50-100 miles (I don't remember exactly how far) but only in D mode.

I've never had a transmission problem before, it's been fairly well serviced (2 x oil change, bridge seals and mechatronic electrics sleeve).

I'm not certain it's the removal of xHP causing the problem - I'm going to try and top up the oil today in case it was a bit low after the last top up. Also has the voltage regulator die last week so replaced that and a very old battery. But thought I would post preemptively in case anyone has seen similar? I have emailed xHP also.
