Jaguar recalling EV due to fire risk
https://www.autoweek.com/news/indust...ed-fire-risks/
Jaguar is voluntarily recalling around 6400 I-Pace EVs from 2019 through 2024 model years following eight customer vehicle fires. The company confirms that 100% of US-delivered I-Pace models are susceptible to lithium-ion battery thermal overloads, as all were produced at Magna Steyr's Graz Vehicle Assembly Plant in Austria. The battery itself is a 90-kWh offering from LG Energy. |

Definitely a cautionary tale. What if the fire happened while the car was being charged inside the garage? Would homeowners insurance cover the cost of rebuilding the house?

Oh look.... an EV that is supposed to reduce carbon emission actually contributed to global warming and pollution... next one will take down an entire house with it too.... The firetrucks will burn a ton of gas to get to the scene as well and then dump millions of gallons of water on the house too. Then begins a whole new house construction and more pollution and trees taken down. Did it have a "lolgas" license plate? According to my math, that kind of devastating environmental damage would be equivalent to 50 hellcats driving 100k miles each
