If you're changing the hoses, you may as well replace the rack. And while you're at that, it makes sense to do the pump too. Once you've got that off, it'll make access easy for the thermostat, so put that in your list. Don't forget coolant. If you're flushing the coolant, it'd be a good time to do your header tank. And maybe the ofhg or vcg. Certainly all this work under the bonnet means the oil pan gasket may as well be in your list. And while that's open, you may as well do rod bearings. If you're taking the rods apart, why not do the rings too? Makes sense. That said, you'd be just as well taking the head off, so you can do the valve stem seals in comfort................
