The A10 on the Coyote when left in "normal" drive mode would shift 1-3-5 etc. But switching out to sport+, track modes etc would shift normal. Same concept it sounds like.

I am right on target with EPA estimates; I average about 17.5 with my suburban commute and can get mid 20’s on the highway (70-75). Any more spirited driving and mileage drops like a stone

Here we are again....Talking about gas mileage on a car we have no business talking about gas mileage on.

Because it’s a high performance car bought by folks with adequate disposable income. As such we aren’t supposed to care about fuel mileage.

Gas mileage ALWAYS matters. Fleet EPA standards are a thing, and the MPG impacts cost and market offerings. A terrible MPG motor lowers the odds of a car making it to market at all.
Also, frankly, I always thought the logic was dumb. Just because I'm willing to splurge on ONE thing (a nice car), it doesn't mean I'm willing to be gouged on everything else too. As an example, I can buy a Porsche and yet be mad about their Options pricing. It's still real money. |

Small gas tank. The M3 drove me nuts at 15.6 gallons @ 16.8 mpg as a DD, and the M2 isn’t much better for fuel economy with almost 2 less gallons.

Loving the extended fuel tank option on the 992 … almost 24 gallons gets you anywhere between 400-600 miles per tank.

On the G87, an extended range tank would probably mean rear seat delete or a wheelbase the same as the G82, which would make the G87 superfluous. Alternatively a FWD platform to use the space where the driveshaft passes between the saddle tanks or where the rear diff currently is, could give a larger tank. Current safety standards make the use of space behind the rear diff for a fuel tank as not viable, as it would be in a crush zone. |

They don’t offer it for AWD, but with 29mpg highway, I have no problem going 400+ miles. I think the computer has said I have over 500 miles of range at some point. If I had rwd 911, I’d probably still get the extended tank. However, I’ve heard people complaining about it rattling.

If range is important criteria for a prospective buyer he can work the numbers and come up an reasonable estimate regarding fuel tank range and decide before he buys the car if that is going to be acceptable. That you are after the purchase complaining about range suggests you didn't look all that hard at fuel mileage/range. All you can do going forward is when range is important adapt a driving style that is conducive to better gas mileage and thus increased range. |

And I think my fuel consumption question is answered by a bit more power and weight than the 135i I compare to (135i was 3400lbs and had 400hp, the M2 is 4000lbs and has 500hp). Realistically consumption is just a tad higher, not much more, I have to drive it more to fully compare, and also look at the consumption properly. I’ve only been paying attention to the range, which is the actual gripe come to think of it, since tanks are the same size, I don’t remember needing gas after 300km in the 135i lol it was at least 400km. But anyway, nothing scientific about My comparisons. |

Actually I almost bought one and then gave this some real thought. But sometimes details like this aren’t apparent and by complaining you make others aware. |
