So guys, what do we think will be the price point of the new G87 M2 CS??

Im thinking it will be introduced next year as a potential model year 25?

Are we thinking maybe $20k more than the standard M2? Also, I've been reading that the CS won't be especially limited as previous CS models and may end up being introduced as a regular model and not just produced in limited numbers, which may make it more attainable to the common man??

If I had to guess 90k makes sense to slot it in between the M4 comp x-drive and the M3 CS. Also, I don't think it would be too far-fetched for BMW to do a pre and post-LCI CS.

Yes that was my guess too. What sort of timeframe are we thinking for order to go live? Maybe late 2024 (Sept) ?? For 2025 spring deliveries or a little later??

Yeah but will it come with all of the previous CS bullshit that nobody wanted or needed like, no comfort access, single zone climate control, and my personal favorite no cup holders. That's a huge no-go for me if those basic/standard features are missing.
From what I can see in the camo car, I do like the lip and the trunk so I may pick those up for the car.

My M4 CS has cupholders and I thought the M2 did too

Single zone and smaller ac unit makes no difference to me in South Florida

I find myself occasionally tugging on a locked door handle but you get used to hitting the button first

It drives so much better than a regular M4 Comp though, so those little niggles are worth it. I expect the same for the G87 CS

Based on the past, I could almost guarantee this CS/CSL will be a parts bin car (wheels, brakes, engine tune, suspension, aero, carbon bits, removed conveniences, lower weight by removing things that people could use but don’t weigh much, less insulation, too much power, etc).

My dream would be like a F90 M5C to M5CS or the F87 M2 to M2CS approach not the G82 M4C to M4CSL approach.

This is where you say to yourself: alright, I need a proper sports car with a proper transmission, not some upsell gt cars with bits and pieces.

Evo magazine seems to think that BMW will introduce the CS as a more mainstream model, making it easier to order one? And also it will appear fairly early? Maybe next year??

F87 CS was almost $90K. Probably at least $100K for G87 CS base price.

Do we think that there is no chance of a 'competition' version? Or will there only be a 'base' and a 'CS' ??

I would be nice to have something inbetween?

The general consensus is that there won't be a Comp for a couple reasons:

1. The base model is already a Comp+ in terms of performance, just not in name, if you are going by the F87 specs.

2. Because of point #1, there's probably not enough room between the CS and the base model to justify another market offering.

I think this is even more true in 2024 since the base model is going to get a 22 HP bump. How would a Comp be significantly different from both the base and CS?
