Visual perception left and right is severely impaired, which will lead to car death pretty quickly, and even if it didn't, your POV is so bad that either the simplest of curves will be almost non-negotiable or the smallest of debris will be catastrophic.
Cool concept though. |

^^^^^ This!!! ^^^^^
Many years ago, I went to the NASCAR Silicon Speedway simulator with some racing friends. The most frustrating thing for me was looking out the left window on an oval track in the simulator and not being able to see the exit of the turns from the entry. All y'all can keep your video games, because playing with those simulators is no comparison to the real thing.....

Been about 20 years, but I used to play Gran Turismo 1 and 2. They were quite fun. Nothing like real life, of course. PS - both simulators above look like a lot of fun. |

RACING AND SEX ARE NOT SPECTATOR SPORTS! Watching PronHub videos or playing Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards (you know you're old when) is no substitute for being in the driver's seat.....

That’s why they’re called “simulators.” They simulate racing cars. PS - and millions of people watch car racing every day. They’re called spectators, or fans. |

These days I use GT mostly to keep my Ring memorization fresh in case I ever get to visit Germany for a drive. |

“Sex, the breakfast of champions” James Hunt Raced SCCA in the 70's, Some AMA sport bike in the 80's and RC from 1982 on. There is NO substitute for strapping into a race car and the second best I have found is at least mano a mano in a RC race with skilled competitors. As for sitting on the couch with a controller, it just plain lame. 2017 IFMAR 1/8th Onroad World Championships, France - Main Final https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jMG4henrC9U |
