Rotational noise from bad tire??

I started hearing a noise on the front of my 2009 long roof, and while I thought it was a bearing I wasn't convinced. I took it to the stealership and they said I needed to rip out everything (since the axle nut was corroded) just to replace the swing bearing, but I still wasn't convinced.

(They also wanted to charge me $12K, which displeased me needless to say.)

So today I swapped out the front Michelin Pilot Sport All Seasons for my winter Blizzaks (mounted on different wheels) just for a reality check, and voila no more noise! Put the Pilots back on, and the noise came back.

These are new (from Tire Rack) Pilots from last year, less than 5000 mi, so wtf? Did I I throw a radial belt or some such? I don't see any visible damage.

Should I just buy a new tire and leave it at that? Bad tire? Bad wheel? Are these waranteed?

Advice appreciated.

I got rid of my Michelin Pilot Sport A/S3+ because they were extremely noisy. I saw some others that had noisy ones too though some people seemed to have quiet ones. Is that the tire you have?

Haven't had any experience with the A/S4 to know but most tires do get noisier as they age and the A/S3+ seemed to be commonly known for being a little on the loud side so I'd say it's probably normal.

Fwiw I rotated all four corners and now the noises seems to have disappeared or at least gotten the point where I'm not sure if I'm imaginng it . . .

Sort of sounds like a flat spotted tire.
