The link seems to be pretty clear, that dealer install would take the remainder of the car’s 4 year warranty.

Having said that, I was recently told by a dealer that dealer install would only have a 2 year parts warranty. And even Getbmwparts website says parts are only covered by 2 year parts warranty.

Regardless, the other point still stands, if you DIY install or have a 3rd party, not only will BMW not warranty the work, they will likely reject warranty claims for anything in the vicinity of the installed part.

I put lowering springs on my X3 (I know not an official BMW part), and BMW rejected a warranty fix of a torn axel boot even though it’s not really near the spring and I had photos of the tear before the springs were put on the car.

I’m going port installed HAS because I don’t want to pay for a blown strut. What’s a strut cost anyway?

When reading the description of the advanced car eye it says “The G sensor detects impacts. Ambient movements are detected and analyzed by radar technology”. Would this effect my radar detector?

I am guessing one strut alone would be in the $1,000 range.

Seems they average around $1,200 but I see them currently on sale for ~$800ish. Aside from the cost of the part one must also factor in the labor. Port install for the HAS is really a no brainer. Only reason I wouldn't get it is if I wanted a more aggressive aftermarket suspension.

Thanks and I agree. Port installation was a given for me without hesitation.

Interested in some of your thoughts here: if you had a choice of adding the HAS OR all three of these MP parts- CF Inlets, CF rear Diffuser & spoiler. Would you choose the HAS or the 3 CF parts?

HAS port installed. Air inlets are the other wildcard due to cutting of the bumper to install. Otherwise, diffuser and spoiler can be had and installed at equal or lesser price and you will still get manufacturers warranty for product defects. Added warranty of those two are not as cruical from BMW for installation at port.

If you're going to want the car lower in the first 4 years definitely MP HAS.

I ordered the inlets and I'm a little worried about the fit/finish of their install after seeing some people take delivery. I think there might be better options aftermarket eventually for the same look.

CF rear diffuser and spoiler are easily purchased and installed aftermarket, so don't really feel it's necessary for port install. Also I think some aftermarket spoiler's look better like that IND one.

I prefer (and ordered) the ZC-9 port installed spoiler. Not a fan of the TRE cut out slot style. There are so many to choose from though, every owner can find the right look. YMMV
